A Prayer

O God of Wonder, we lift up our praise that you became like us, help us to see you when we look at those who bear the marks of suffering and pain like you did, and make our deepest longing to be more like you—showing love to the poor and bringing justice to those oppressed.

We thank you for the gift of joy— a gift that in your wisdom you have appointed as a time in our lives for laughterand that laughter and a happy heart are the means by which you bring healing and wholeness to that which would be otherwise
dried up and without beauty or vitality.

Breathe on us your Holy Spirit and give us peace and joy today O God.

   Amen.
